Ellabella is Turning Eleven -- We Need Your 80s Movies!!

So it begins. Ella has decided that she wants a slumber party for her eleventh birthday. Let the giggling begin! She's contemplating an 80s theme, so here's where we'd like to enlist your help. Please spam us with your favorite 80s movies -- keeping in mind the average age of our guests is a whopping eleven. So ... no Porky's or Risky Business, please. Feel free to leave comments, or email me.

It's hard to believe that Ella is going to be eleven. I so vividly remember my own birthdays of the same age. The slumber parties rocked -- we stayed up all night, danced, and, embarassingly, listened to Rick Springfield and Duran Duran - all the while stuffing ourselves with Cheetos, Doritos, and Coke. I, of course, was always the last person to fall asleep, the loudest giggler, and the talkiest talker. My mom never failed to serve her homemade pancakes the morning after to a grateful if motley group of haystack-haired, bleary-eyed girls.

I'm so excited for Ella. The names have changed, but the song remains the same. My little Jonas Brothers fan is growing up...

Thanks for your support, and please, keep it clean, people.

Better Off Dead, One Crazy Summer, The Jerk, Sixteen Candles (although that may be a little much, but my all time favorite), The Lost Boys, Lucas, Gleaming the Cube... I could go on, but I will let others chime in.

So what you're saying is "Heathers" is a little too dark?

I was but a mere child in the 80s, but I will do my best:

Movies: Labrynth, The Dark Chrystal, Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters, Muppets Take Manhatten, The Little Mermaid, Ferris Buellers Day Off, ET, The Neverending Story, Gremlins, Flight of The Navigator, Batteries Not Included, Short Circuit, Big, She's Having a Baby...okay, I'm out for now.

TV Shows: Inspector Gadget, Full House, She-Ra, Rainbow Brite, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mr T (was it called The A Team?)
