Take That, Yarn!!

Haha!! I am triumphant! I have conquered the evil fiber and managed to create something that is not even vaguely penis shaped with it!!

A bazillion thanks to Lynne, who proved during this project that it is possible to teach knitting via phone. This hat for the lovely Lula taught me how to knit in the round, on circular needles as well as double pointed needles. There were definitely moments where I considered a DIY lobotomy with the needles instead of knitting, but I'm so proud now that I persevered and finished. I want to name it. And sleep with it.

Bag For Lynne

I'm so proud of this one. It has pockets and everything! Pockets are good, they are my friend.

Finally I've made something for Lynne that is neither vaguely penis shaped nor child sized. To be honest, I sorta hope she hates it, so that I can steal it back. My favorite part is the applique/embroidery on the front. The flowers are all double layered and are attached to the bag with buttons - they are not actually appliqued onto the fabric - they sort of float. I'm planning on making a skirt for Ella with this design growing up from the hem.

I've taken a thousand pictures of it, as I love it so. It's going in the mail tomorrow, I promise. Until then I will fondle it and love it and call it George.

Clearly I Should Have Never Stopped...

Buying new wraps. The obligitory action pictures that the hungry babywearing public demands were part of what kept my weight in check. I can't believe how much weight I've put on since Lula was born. Unlike normal people who gain weight WHILE they are pregnant, I lose it. Thank you, Hyperemesis. But, I gain it all back in the infant and toddler years.

So, clearly the solution to this problem is to keep on buying baby carriers and taking pictures for the peeps in Wrappers' Paradise over at The Babywearer. So, Bruce, I'm on it. I'm opening the fabric floodgates again. It's all for a good cause.

And without further ado, I give you the Elleville Zara Curry EV. It's extrememly supportive. I was just able to eek out a FCC tied under the bum with what I believe is a 4.2. Note that at pushing 40 I'm still rocking the pigtails, thank you very much.

Bagtastic!

I'm so excited! I finally made a bag. From an awesome tute found on Craftster. And, it's all stash material. I'm trying to stash bust, what with TBW DIYOT Fairy going on and all. That said, I'm off to Mary Jo's to grab some AB Cherry Wallflower before it's all gone....sigh.

Anyway, here are a couple of pics of my first ever bag. It's lined and everything, too. The strap is too long, but other than that I am pleased as punch.

OK...I'm out the door. More clevertude later.
